Poem -

WALL

This wall grows
Silently inside me
Like the moon in the lake
Warding off enemiesĀ
Deceiving alliesĀ
Dulling the world I knew
Or maybe not
Sheltering the disquietudeĀ
Gifted to me
By fear
I mean itĀ
When I say
I am scared of what I remember
And even more of what I don't
I must dismantle this wallĀ
Bit by bit
Until I find the envelope
Sealed by my mother's rough hand
With my nameĀ
Inside it.
