Poem -

When Love Comes Alive

When Love Comes Alive

"Art imitates life," great Aristotle once said
So, I got out my art palette with tints of red
With the idea to paint your love's perfection
On waiting easel, with my deepest affection

I aspire to create truest colors of you
Where passion's paint bleeds expediently through
Your eyes pierce the canvas with love's honesty
Speaking the unspoken of a promise to me

If I capture the essence of your comeliness
Could you overlook my brushstroke's clumsiness?
My hands shake and make mistakes in my desire's stress
Wishing I could conjure you here without a mess

There's no perfect lighting to make your form derive
But with every paint stroke your love comes alive
I almost feel your touch, sense the warmth of your cheek
Your hand drawn mouth seems poised to seductively speak

I devise a dream, perhaps to my detriment
But the intent of my heart stirs with sentiment
I want to be loved by those eyes that compromise
The sincerest plea to show me love without lies

So, I paint my beloved saint, for my rescue
With saving shades of bold and brave, in love's best hue
Perhaps, life can imitate art with fate's premiere
Through a portal in my painting. bringing you here...

When love comes alive!

" IT, IS BETTER, THAN IT BEING DEAD ! " Surely ? Who, would want , that ? !!! ( no names, or instances, " need ", be mentioned ).
" LOVE COMES, ALIVE " in more ways, than " one "....clearly. You, must not assume the " worst ", dealing with " it, all ", in a meticulous FASHION. To get, the most from cravings and desire. Do you not ?
In, the way of, it, can be obstacles created by those less interested IN THE " SCHEME OF THINGS ", and what it has to offer. Think, of the joy, in peaceful " RESOLUTION ", beyond the features of every day. And, the entering, into a " deal " which TRANSCENDS BOUNDARIES. How, good is that ?
You, must leave " no stone un-turned " in discovering what you require. So. much. The " love of it " in this " landscape " makes each breath worth more. Does that, not be or " feel " the case ? :) :)
You, understand so readily the magnitude of what is beyond " the material " !!! You, give heart, and the rich soul, to the " cause " presenting everything in a " matter of fact " manner, none could dispute. Bravo.
Thanks, for " enlightening " those in the dark of your " stance " on what is beyond the heartbeat. What represents " SPIRITUAL DIVERSITY " !! :) :)
TAKE CARE. You give. You live. You thrive. On the " wings of a dove " with PEACE AND LOVE, guiding your thought, and passionate responses.
X :)

Lol...Yes, Richard, I agree that it would not be good for her painting of her lover to be dead....Lol.....Love should be vibrant and exciting and enticing...so her desire to bring to fruition her perfect love in her art painting should feel full of passionate color and detail.... to become real to her.  I love doing narratives time to time that give poetry a chance to be more detailed and tell a story.  I used to paint a lot when I was younger, and even sold my artwork and had some in galleries.  But now I just do it for fun with my children.  But it was easy to create this story in my mind, and found the perfect picture to post for it too.  I am glad you see the life I created in this piece...bringing love to life.  I always care about your opinions. Bless you. xo Love n Hugs

You, seem to be a "SOUL, IN MOTION "....constantly. Not willing to remain " static " !!! :) You, redefine your " niche ", as you go through life.....exploring " relevant " passages, and pathways, WITHIN the " journey " !!! :) What, an ACTIVE soul, you are. Leaving " nothing, to be desired ", when it comes down to it. You, throw yourself into whatever you can ( whatever, takes your " fancy " !! ).
WITH VERVE, as well as " nerve " !!! :) :) BRAVO.
Thanks.  XXX :)

Hi Richard. Thank you.  Every time I read your commentaries, I feel like I am getting a psychic reading...lol.  I always appreciate your opinions and insight.  I do feel like my heart and soul are active in leading my life now.  I used to be so cautious in life, but I guess I do have some nerve now to make my life what I want it to be.  I like to write narrative poems that express a desire or hope...that yearning feeling..and in this one she yearns to bring love to life in her painting. Love n Hugs, xo

I'm unsure of what to say, the words in your poetry, the image you have painted has come to life within my mind and it is so real, I can smell the canvas, I can taste the paint, it's so real.
The comment left by Richard, like he traveled back in time and read your poem to shakespeare was so deep, his thoughts and his welcoming tone is a poem within itself, your are lucky Cherie, to have a wonderful gift that inspires us all to write.

Thank you.

Hi Gerard.  That is an awesome compliment! Thank you.  I worked and reworked this poem off and on all day yesterday trying to get it to tell the story I had in my mind.  She felt what she painted so sentimentally that he comes alive!

I cracked up at Richard's comments...that first line...lol  He really gets into the reflections of what he feels and sees and does not hold back!   He is the one who encouraged me to come onto Cosmo way back in 2014, and I am grateful for his support.

Thank you for believing in me, Gerard.  That means so much.  I may put this poem in a collection I plan to publish next spring with my publisher.  xo :)

HI Greg.  Thank you!  ;)  Yes, I wanted to do something different in a narrative kind of poem that tells a story.  I am ever the hopeful romantic in what I write...lol...wanting to make dreams come true when it comes to love.  I will certainly read your poem shortly.  xo ;)

A Lonely Journey

Hi Cheerie,
That was amazing. You have an fantastic poetic mind. It was so beautiful, the way the young lady painted her love, as you painted it with your gorgeous words, and the two revealed your incredible, romantic dream. Just beautiful!
You keep getting better and better(I told you, you were the Renoir of poetry!).
Beautiful writing, Cherie. Love your romantic heart.

Hugs and loves,

Matthew.

Thank you so much, Matthew. I wanted to do something different that showed a love story in narration. Dreams are beautiful motivators. In this scenario a woman paints her deepest desire into a live vision before her! I found the picture and it represented  my story perfectly.  I am touched by your comment that I am the "Renoir of poetry"...You are always so supportive of my work.  Bless you. xo ;)  Love n Hugs

Wonderful creative imaginative poem. You continue to amaze me.  I have not had time to be on cosmo for a while, but what a nice suprise to open it today and find your poem and Tony's poem on the same page. Both of you are so creative and talented.

HI Shirley.  We sure miss you on Cosmo.  It is always nice to see you.  I am sorry I missed your comments, initially.  I am honored. Thank you.  I like doing narratives...I am glad you liked this one...where if we could really believe in our dreams, maybe, just maybe they can come true.  Very kind of you to stop by and show support.  Bless you. xo ;)
