Poem -

When Love Succeeds

When Love Succeeds

I wonder if his heart still bleeds
With love's incessant throbbing need
Once upon a time, I agreed
No one, nor nothing, could impede

Time found a way to intercede
Unrighteous rifts wrought cruel creed
Injustice cornered, trapped, and treed
Deterring love's get-away steed

Shame on the world's wicked misread
Preventing precedence to plead
The power of love's supersede
To deactivate dark throne's accede

So goes separation's stampede
Low blows still strike with thrashing reed
Yet in my heart I wait to heed
The healing touch, when love succeeds

Gorgeous Cheerie.
Love does fail, doesn't it? It's so sad that it does. Maybe, if there's something after this, it doesn't. Wouldn't that be nice?

Really enjoyed that.

Matthew.

(And enjoyed all the rhyming. I rhyme everything in site, so I like that. lol).
Great job.

Hi Matthew....I got a bit carried away with the rhyming making all 16 ending words of verses rhyme....lol....but I just wanted to do something different.  I am glad you liked it.  I am always sad when there is injustice in love...because love knows what it wants and the world can be cruel sometimes to intervene and cause problems.  Love knows the truth and fights for its right to succeed.  Those were my thoughts in this one.  Thank you for understanding.  It would be nice if love always had the chance to succeed and show the world its staying power.  Thank you for your kind support.  xo Cheerie  ;)

You're so welcome, Cheerie. I'm sorry I say this so much, but you're just  an incredibly nice person!
You know, I can't write anything(poetically-wise) without rhyming! I wish I could, but I'm not really a poet(I just like to meet nice people like you, and others. Shhhh...don't tell everyone, though. I have to post some things, though, so I put out miasmas of words, and sometimes they're OK, but they always have to rhyme! I can't break it. Oh well.
You're cool, my friend, and great to talk to.

Matthew.

Matthew...You are a poet!  A good one too!  I have the same problem about wanting to rhyme...I sometimes force myself to do a totally freestyle poem of prose that does not rhyme to challenge myself...but I always go back to what I hear in my head...lol...We all have our style and comfort in writing.  It is nice to have someone so appreciative of poetry and just so supportive and kind.  Thank you!  I love hearing your words.  xo ;)

Cheerie,
Thank YOU for always being such a kind, understanding soul. I think you would have made a wonderful teacher.
And, I think I must have read too much Dr. Suess when I was younger! lol. Some day I'm going to write one that doesn't rhyme!

TTYS, my friend,

Matthew.

Lol...Well Dr. Seuss is one of the best!  A favorite for my children for sure!  Many many years ago, I was an assistant teacher for about four years, actually...Good discernment...lol  I am sure you will write a poem that does not rhyme once upon a challenge when you feel it....lol  xo

Cheerie,
I knew it! You are such a perfect person to be a teacher, so caring, and nice, and patient. You must have been great, and a great mom, too, I bet.

Yes, the non-rhyming poetry will come, I suppose,
As long as I keep trying to compose,
Maybe someday I'll come out smelling like a rose,
If I just keep going, and stay on my toes...DAMN! Now I can't even write a response without rhyming! Oh God, what awful timing, as I'm trying to tell you how my dreams are dying...UGH!!!! I give up!! LOL.

Lol....Lost rhymes in time will leave freestyle's incline....

I loved being a teacher.  I think my children think I still have too much of my teacher mentality in me in the way I raise them....lol...but I can't help it. ;)

Hi Greg.  Thank you.  I am always rooting for the underdog.....and hoping love will show the world its power...NOT the other way around.  The heart wants what it wants, and knows the truth of what is real in this world.  I am sentimental about that.  xo ;)

Ah love.....so many twists and turns...joy, sorrow, ecstasy,misery..and yet we continue to seek it out....our greatest wish is always that love triumphs no matter what obstacles are in it’s way and we all wait for the healing touch! Lovely work as always Cherie xxxx

Hi Lodigiana.  You sum it up so well.  Love is always on the side of hope and faith....wanting to triumph despite the oppositions in life and obstacles.......All it knows is to persevere.  Thank you for your valued comments xo ;)

Hi Greg.  Thank you.  I believe without passion in life, there would be so much I would miss out on....my whole belief and faith system revolves around love's hope despite the odds the world throws out there.  I appreciate your kind support. xo ;)

Hi Terry.  Thank you!  I was a teacher a very long time ago...lol.  The house projects have been going slow. The kids are out of school for the summer, I am looking into some other transcription jobs,  and writing too.  Tony has had some hard days, but we are doing well.  Hope you are well.  I always appreciate your kind support.  It keeps me motivated.  Thanks, Terry. xo ;)

Cherie, Slow here too.  My 42 year old son is sick with another staph infection but out of the hospital now.  Always so busy huh.  Someday you may retire! :-)   Take care.  TK
