Poem -

When You Tell Me That You Love Me

When You Tell Me That You Love Me

I want a day to stay inside the safety of your eyes
In our world where love fights without compromise
To destroy the lies that have kept us apart
I am stronger now with you living within my heart

I want to kiss your smile, and erase the pain
Hold your hand, and dance in Xanadu's rain
Paradisical persuasion sends powerful roar
When you tell me that you love me, I soar

Every star can lose its sparkle and space
For the light of my life shines from your face
I found what is beautiful, illuminating truth
An aroma of love's soothing, smooth vermouth

Who can stop love on its mission for forever?
I wield devotion's sword for worthy endeavor
Show loneliness the door, I'm finally free
All is well, when you tell me that you love me

" Your heart will go on. " " You know how love is forever !! " You keep the faith and the way of the warrior is exchanged for the way of the Casanova-trapped " slave to the rhythm " !! :)
It is with the mind and body that beauty comes from within, and what matters most is delivered through word and expressive thinking. The art motivates the heart and the heart motivates the art !!
It is in the sanctuary of the love-nest that the test is passed so easily  and the questions so eagerly awaited as well as answered. How can it be wrong ? How can one feel the power of the dawn birdsong ? The freshness of the new day or the post-rainfall fragrant episode are testimony to the desire which takes control. When the world becomes " more than it was " your true nature is released to make more of what you are, what you want to be and what you want to do !! :)
Leave no doubt in the corrupt what loving life gives. The flow and the glow result in definitions to meaning as well as meaning to the definition...of choice. Live long, and play the symphony orchestra's concerto with consumate ease !!!
Fire the arrows into hearts...so accepting of your triumphant march to mend soul and thought !!! Keep on giving.....keep on living. Keep on " the money " !!!  :) :) :)

Lol...I hope romance is never dead, or I won't survive...lol  It is what keeps me motivated in life and writes my poetry...  ;)  I am trying to spread my wings and express myself in my poetry.  I am so happy you liked it.  All thanks goes to you, my friend!  If anyone knows love poetry, it is you!  xo

Wow Richard!  I read your comments and they are so uplifting and make me re-evaluate my own poetry and my motivations, and then I feel so inspired!  Thank you, my friend!  How do you do that?  You are such an encouraging person and we need you back writing on Cosmo to keep us on track challenging ourselves.  Thank you for such a thorough comment.  I feel like you put me on a pedestal that I do not deserve and I might fall off!  But, you do make me want to strive to do my best work possible and to stay focused, which I need.  Bless you.  Love is always such an inspiration for me to write about and I am pleased you understand that drive in me.  If it were not for you,  I would have never come on Cosmofunnel...I did not even know of this site until you kept asking me to submit my work on here...I am so glad I finally listened to you.  I miss your poetry.  Love n Hugs, xo

" Sweetness and light " give themselves over, to the wayward glance of the " passing " stranger carrying a heavy load, but intent on delivering on the promises of yesterday. In the second-sight of the passionate and romantic is the folly and the fun !!!
You encapsulate the dream-state giving rise, to the inspiring " heart-provoking " diatribe, and sustenance, of the virginal original spirit. Leave well alone, the payments or procedures of the jealous and bitter to spread the light fantastic !!!
Never surrender, unless willing, to the mindset of the mundane mono " sin-cratic " "high purr bellies " ( :) ), which define the less inventive mainstream approach !!!

I do believe I live in a dream-state for sure, Richard...It is the only way i know how to exist in this world...with that hope and drive. I don't plan on ever surrendering that motivation Thank you for all your valued comments. xo ;)

The " smooth tongue " of the fantasy, replacing the monotone rasp of the reptilian reactionary, leads one, to wonder.
You discover what matters. Separate yourself, from what defies conventionary thought, not policy-making ( :) ), to expand boundaries of the " bountiful yield ", so poetic !!
Give licence to clear and crisp harmonious transactions, which expound creativity. See the light, dancing on the " river of dreams " !!
Hoping you get all you wish for.

If  " inspiration " and perspiration be your guides, then so be it. You know what conforms and what does not. Think positive, rather than negative, and lust for life remains. The fight for a vessel to cross the lake, to the island of choice, brings home the stark demands, of the embattled soul. The heart must get what the heart wants.
Try to focus, on that which cleanses the air. Threatening " Storm-cloud " ( :) ), blanket-cover, must be a sign to release your energies in other fields, as well as in the support of the common cause, which all understand and appreciate....frequently !!! Take heed of the heels, and the balls, to dip those toes, in the babbling brook !!!!  :) :)
May God speed you, on your merry way !!! :)
Let loose the dogs which bark so loudly, at the moon.
Learn to live, without hindrance, fancy-free. Then, and only then, will you shine in the optimum glow....which you must deserve at this point.
Fly. Fly. Fly. Write, up to the sky !!!!!  ( :) )
All the best. X

Cheerie, you're awesome!
I got to the title and said 'have to Pin that one', and then I read it, and decided I needed a pin cushion...???(whatever that means).
My gosh, you write beautifully! Your heart is ridiculously ridiculous(in an amazing type of way). Please be careful, though, because someone could melt with your words, and we've all seen what happened to the Wicked Witch of the East, or West(one of the directional advocates).
Cheerie, your writing gets more romantic, and beautiful with each poem you put out. You are truly the Sighmaster.
I lurve that line 'Every star can lose it's sparkle and space...' gorgeous, young lady.
I love that you love love, it's truly lovely.
This world should be created by you.

Loved it!

Hi Matthew!  A pin cushion you say?  Well, I take that as a lot of pins!  Lol  I am honored.
I will always dip my pen where romance takes flow...because it is the only way I know how to swim in poetry.  I appreciate you telling me which lines speak to you....In that particular one, I imagine the sky suddenly going dark, as the stars fall from their places and lose their sparkle, and yet love becomes this amazing light that takes over and there is no need for the stars' illumination any more, even as romantic as they can seem....lol  I don't know, I am a romance nerd...lol  I do love LOVE, and it is truly what has motivated me in life in the most difficult times to keep my focus on...and I cannot help but write of it in my poetry as a part of me.  I appreciate all your kind support.  I am so happy you like it.  If I created the world, no one would ever get any work done, because love would be such the center of the world, that we would all be floating...lol  Thank you.  xo Cheerie ;)

Amen, my friend!
I know what you mean. When you're with 'that person' sometimes the world ceases to exist, it's an exquisite thing...and you're an exquisite person.
Hey, I love the way your world sounds! You're wicked hired! Another job for you, your work is a wonderful resume.
And I think my 'Pin' cushion is full from you. I need a Pin couch now! lol.
Ummmm...could you be any cooler??!! I don't think so...

Yes!  "Exquisite" is the perfect word for it!  In my world, everyone would probably not sound very good because their voices would be of higher pitch (like helium air being gulped) from all that floating around in the clouds and not coming down...lol
I saw  a house down the street from me that has a couch sitting out at the curb to be picked up by trash if you need one for pins...It's free!  Although you would want to put a sign on it warning people it is not recommended to sit on.  You are very kind for pinning a lot of my poems.  Thank you, M.  xo ;)

You are loopy...I love it! And I love the higher voice world you paint. It would be like a bunch of full-sized Munchkins in the clouds.
I will abscond that couch, thank you...but do you think I could talk them down on price? (I've only got about negative forty dollars on me). Is it chartreuse? I like chartreuse...even though I'm not sure what color that is...I think maybe it's a perriwinkle...whatever that is. Let me know. Thanks, C!

Nope, the couch was a barf green color...not even close.  If it were any color of purple, I would have picked it up for myself.  ;)

OOOOO, barf green? Awesome. Was it barf green, or vomituous green, though? There's a slight difference(depending on the person's stomach contents).
I love Froot Loops. They were my favorite cereal as a child...until I found a live toucan in the box...it pecked me.

So, you like the color purple(that would be a good movie!). I'm not sure why my writing went from bold font to this light one, but I think I may be fading away. H lp m ! !

It was definitely barf green....as it did not have the right smell for vomitous green ...less acidic smell.

Those toucans can be pretty vicious when you find them in your Fruit Loops,  That's why I eat Honey Bunches of Oats instead (Very true story!) and they help me start the day in a much sweeter mood.

Sorry I lost you to the fading font monster....Darn him!  You were a nice friend, Matt while I had you here. :)

LOL(Lemons On Legs),
I tried the Honey Bunches of Oats route, too, but one day some bees came out of the box and stung me in the bum area(that's the place on Minerva and Main where the hobos hang out), and then a horse neighed at me regarding his oat inventory...it was harrowing...in an extremely disturbing, or distressing way. Lucky Charms, leprechaun poop...I just don't have a great deal of luck with breakfast foods, althuing(wow! that wasn't even close!) I enjoy them quite fervently. I'm thinking of becoming a cereal k*ller. ; )
Hi! You're awesome.

How about an intelligent response to someone's poems, rather than a soliloquy on the perils of cereal disturbance in your life!

Have you tried Yak Flakes?
They're delicious, in a hairy, pungent type of way. I eat them every day...except for Wednesdays and Saturdays...and some other days of the week. During those intervals I have Herring Loops(they're kind of like Froot Loops, but with more fish flavor than Froot. They're quite good. Try them, please.
Thank you!

Please don't! I'm a card carrying member of Yakkity Yak, and I'm actually making a speech on Yak Festoons at a convention in Wales next week. If they hear about my voracious appetite towards them, they may become enflamed...or engorged...or some type of word that means angry and starts with 'e'. I'm begging you! Thank you!

Stop picking on me!  I know how to spell...I am a writer!  I can prove it!  I corrected it and you are just trying to distract and switch the subject off of your poor behavior and violations to the Yakkity Yak Organization's policies and fundamental beliefs to the rights of yaks.  ;)

I'm not picking! It's just curious. Perhaps it was a Freudian slip, as we all know that vioation means 'a ragged, or symbiotic prototype of some flax seed oil, in Tibet. Maybe you want to go to Tibet? Is that possible? Anyway, have a great vioation.

Cheerie,
You're an angel, and you know you're wicked smart, so thank you for allowing my picking. It's just kidding(and it reality, it makes me look sillier than you, as everyone knows you meant viomationone, yet I'm the only one who pointed out the error. We pick on the ones we like. lol.
I KNOW!! I first discovered this phenomenon a few weeks back! Pretty soon it gets down to one, single column, and eventually strangles out your words altogether, until they're just a little pile of vioation. It's pretty neat, in a claustrophobic, strangulatory type of way.
Anyway, if you want to keep going, you can see the phenomenon for yourself, and I could banter with you forever. (Note: phenomenon still fits on a line, so we've got a little while to go before our words suffocate. OK, have a nice vioation.

It IS a good word! I really like it, and yes, I'm guilty of picking on you, because I think you're grate(lol). I've been thinking of creating a new language for a while now, and I was wondering if I could enlist you to conceive some of the words. You're fantastic at creating loony aphorisms, and I think we would be a great team. We could call our dictionary, Websters! Oh, wait, that may be taken...what about Cheerie's Crazy Chronicles! I like it. Let's get started. Do you have any other wacky words loaded up?

A very beautiful love poem Cherie (and as you know, romance isn't always my thing).
I especially liked the line about Vermouth.

I'm not too keen on Vermouth but I drink the wifes when the cupboards are bare lol.
