Poem -

Where Great Neighing Sounds Meet

Where Great Neighing Sounds Meet

The Grand Canyon could not contain
Wild thunder
Nor hold back the inquisitive snorts
Of wonder
Against an expansive stretched
Blue canvassed sky
A herd of horses carve a path
Prepare to fly

Along the ridge
Their prancing silhouettes stream
Under cloud coverage
The sun squints with glints to redeem
Sweet hoofprint impressions
From these racing heart beats
To create sacred ground
Where great neighing sounds meet

Hi David..Thank you. I love horses....The image of them running free is always so mesmerizing to me...I wanted to capture their congregation at the Grand Canyon as their sacred land to leave impressions and simply commune...I appreciate you taking time to read and comment...xox Cherie  ;)

Hi Cherie, your words flow gracefully like a horse galloping in the lawn with the elegance of its body ## I am amazed of their extreme sensibility## when you ride,  you have to be precise and light because sudden movement may disturb them ## They are actually the extension of yourself ## I have always dreamed of riding a horse ## never had a chance because there were no horses where I lived in the Philippines. ## When I was a kid, I always cried when I watched horses being killed in movies,  war films## Luckily, here in our village south of the Netherlands,  a farm village,  I am surrounded by horses,  and I am very happy # I enjoyed reading this ##

"  A horse is a projection of people's dreams about themselves - strong,  powerful,  beautiful- and it has the capability of giving us escape from our mundane existence "

Hi Leah...I love how you described riding a horse as "an extension of yourself" because that is so true!  Horses are very intuitive and can sense fear....When a rider is sensitive to the horse's stride....it becomes a synchronized spiritual experience.. I just love them!  I am in awe of their beauty and grace...and innate sense of freedom....Powerful creatures of pure energy in motion to watch..I wanted to capture a short scene of that witnessed beauty.  Thank you for your awesome comments.

Tony and I are actually on our way to California today....we stopped for a layover in Arizona...waiting for our next flight and I had a chance to get on here for a few minutes...I may not be on Cosmo much at all this week....as we will be busy...Tony is here on business but I am treating this travel time as a vacation...lol

Thanks so much...Love n Hugs
