Poem -

Who Will Listen?

Who Will Listen?

As the angel cast from heaven
I walk the Earth with no purpose.
Despairing at the thought of which
Person should help me in this day.
More so despairing when I find
Such a generous soul as this.
The one who will sit upon a stump
And listen to all I have to say.
For such a person is worthy of
The very wings torn from my back.
The value of gold to the merchant
Is of lesser value than a kind ear.
Those that are willing to listen,
Hear everything willing to be said.
And more than the words we speak,
Are the ones we hear.
A dozen politicians have not the power
As one single, honest listener.
For speakers may sway a vote,
But someone who hears can change a life.
Who is it then that will hear me speak?
Where is my verbal ventilation?
So much there is I have to say.
Who out there will listen?
