The Hunger-Revised (Part 6)

More questions flooded Jade's mind: How did this happen? Then it dawned on her-they feed from each other. She grew more panicked. "What do I do now?" she asked herself. Just then, she heard heavy footsteps coming towards the large garbage bin. If she still had a pulse, it'd be racing. "Who's there?" she shouted at the top of her lungs.
The footsteps stopped. "Here kitty, kitty," the unknown male voice said.
Jade didn't know what to do. Thus, questions swarmed her mind again: Do I fall prey to him? Do I flee the scene? Do I kill him in cold blood? Not having much time to decide, she did the first thing that came to mind-challenge her prey. As she stepped away from the garbage bin, she could hear his strong heartbeat. The sound, the rhythm, amplified her desire to devour him whole. Now face to face, she says, "I'm not a kitty."
The man stood there like a statue-he noticed the bite mark on her neck, the blood all over mouth, and her blade fangs. Jade could feel his fear-it was riveting; a sensation she could see herself getting used to. "Cat got your tongue?" she asked, smiling at him wickedly.
"I-I don't want any trouble," the man faltered, extending his grimy hands.
As Jade stared into his eyes; a vision came to her, and it was morbid vision at that. She saw herself ripping into his flesh, drinking him dry and leaving the bloody carnage behind. "Dead meat," she whispered eerily.
The man's face turned whiter than snow. "What do you mean 'dead meat'?" he asked, still faltering.
She took a step forward. "I mean, you're dead meat."
Silence descends.
