YOUR 'X' BELONGS TO ME

YOUR 'X' BELONGS TO ME

Take it down clown
It doesn’t belong to you
It belongs to the Yankees
Despite your convenient
Demented memory
Remember the Union's
March to the sea
Grant kicked your asses
Sherman burned Atlanta
The slaves were freed
You surrendered your ‘X’
At Old Appomattox
To the victor
Belongs the spoils of war
So hand it over
Before we have to whoop
You’re asses once more

They still thought they were right...

Being from the North...

It was an interesting place....

They blamed me for it...

Thanks Sparrow.  Indeed, after the surrender at Appomattox, in a ceremony, Lee's army paraded past the Union forces, and had to surrender their long guns and battle colors to the victors.  In consequential surrenders of Confederate forces all battle colors including the Stars & Bars, became property of the Union forces.

In fact, not to many years ago, a Confederate advocate group asked the State of Minnesota to give back a Confederate battle flag that had been surrendered to a Minnesota Union division.  This group even threaten to sue for its return.  Then Governor Jesse Venture curtly pointed out that the Confederate Flag belong to the Union forces, and they'd have to do more than go to court to get back what was won in War.

Thank you Lilly.

But my poor photoslop is more than an attempt at humor.  It's a true depiction of an actual event of the Civil War.  And all volunteer unit from Wisconsin had as their standard bearer, a real live American Bald Eagle, they called 'Old Abe'.

As battle lines were drawn, old Abe was often placed on tall perch in the forefront.  Anticipating the battle, that 'Damn Yankee Buzzard' would begin to squawk and screech.  Confederate forces offered a reward to any man that killed it. But none claimed the prize though many died trying.  In one particular battle, towards the end of the war, a captured Confederate Flag was flown just below the perch.  In the excitement of battle, Old Abe, expelled her bowels upon the Stars & Bars, outraging Confederate forces into making a suicidal charge.

And yes, Old Abe was a she.

Just a little History.

And yes, the Confederate Flag is the rightful property of the United States of America.

Mirela, everyone in America save the Native Americans are foreigners, or the daughters, or sons, of foreigners.  My grandfather was from Norway.  As to why we should love one flag and not the other, could be explained by my grandfather if he were alive today.

One of the two stands for freedom and equality.  The other, stands for repression and slavery.  To try to lump both together is like saying apples are the same as oranges.

I'm certain Mirela, that you are, and will continue to be, a positive ingredient in this melting pot called America.  Just keep in mind America's principles are more important then its symbols.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful input.

My pride and soul will never change nor will I surrender my flags and guns. I dare you nigger lover to come and take them. You'll never understand what true pride feels like and the unfortunate circumstances that southerners face. I don't want to offer you the luxury of feeling the warmth of the southern sunshine or give you the opportunity to walk a mile in my shoes for I have no desire to or care to be in yours.

Thank you for your honest input.  And I'm glad to hear that you own a pair of your own shoes.  I don't want your guns and as far as your cross and stars go, I already have enough toilet paper.

Live a long and happy life.

States want to separate themselves...

Maybe something to think about?

I don't think it would be a sad day...

I don't see a problem with separation.
And you'll never wipe your ass with it in the south.

Maybe if you were a slave for a week you'd change your mind...

Receive the same treatment that was given...
