BEADS

Beads are locally-made bracelets in Ghana, Western part of Africa. I was inspired by the designs, colours, size and types of beads made in Ghana especially in the Volta Region. This painting communicate to the viewer to understand the symbolic meaning of the beads by their colours. The yellow ranges for royals, blue ranges for female tendency and coolness, red ranges for anger, aggressiveness. In Africa, the type of of beads a man or a woman wears speak much about him or her. For example, beads are for occasions, transition from periods such as puberty.
