Captive Audience

A Leopard in captivity, lying with his back up against the cage wall. I haven't painted many cats, but this was almost painful to paint; Seeing these magnificent animals behind bars nearly breaks my heart.( I know in some cases the goal is to protect an endangered species, but it's still hard to imagine their wild restless souls with nowhere to roam)
This is a watercolor, with a bit of white acrylic in the chin.

It's beautiful, I love cats (actually all animals hehe) and I don't like the captivity... It's sad and most of the times very cruel !! Still some domestications I find alright but they're not in zoo's, it's more with private people who buy one from a zoo and give them many acres of land, so it doesn't stay locked behind bars in a zoo with thousands of people visiting them each day to see how a Leopard doesn't look like in nature, for educational purposes.... And like how dolphins jump through hula-hoops as educational purpose for children.....
