Interesting, appears rather abstract. I would be a little frightened if I walked into any courtroom to find the people who look like the ones penned. It's unique. Good work!
Thanks Peter, yes, it looks like a judge! The juror 3 and juror 6 look like they are the characters on trial. Great work, wish I could draw people's faces. I'm more of an abstract artist, I can draw most anything that I have a picture of, with the exception of hair and fine details, probably because I cannot see the fine details! I have terrible vision and memory.
I heard that artist have impeccable memories and may also be great in mathematical equations. Are you good with numbers and memory? Just thought to ask.
Actually, Katina, you got a detail wrong, the top six faces, are all defendents who have been on remand, and each one of them are in line to be individually tried. The top, middle face is of an old man, who had trouble, in the remand holding jail, meaning he got beat up. And the centre face in the second row, is not one of a woman, it is a male sex offender, who was kept separate , with other's of his ilk, in the remand centre, in other words, he was kept under protection. Because of more violent prisoners, like the one who looks like he is trying to get out of the page, because if he got his hands on the sex offender, well it would be the end for him.
And the reason the court security is looking at the judge, with such disdain, is that, he thinks the sentences are too lenient.THE JUDGE IS OUT OF TOUCH! And the reason the piece is named courtroom 2c, is that it is a play on words, in other words,( courtroom to see).
i am only good at simple adding and subtracting.
Now it makes perfect sense! I truly didn't get all of that, the first time I viewed the art. But looking at the image again, they do all look like convicts! I just wasn't sure in the beginning. Thank you so much for clarifying... takes me reading a poem multiple times to understand many of the metaphors and analyzing art is also challenging.
