MARS PROJECT: The New Explorers
This is the completed scene for a future Mars Exploration Colony probably happening somewhere in the 2030's. The astronauts are of the S.E.A./ M.G. or Space Exploration Agency/ MARS Group and are only too happy to be walking on Mars along with their mascot. Look closely and you will see my face in the first astronaut's suit !

Hi again Jose, the landscape in this one, although so simple is very very clever. I dont know how you have managed it but to me it's a real highlight point of this work. Interesting work with the technology aswell, re.inds me of those old school NASA diagrams of the ISS. I used to love those.... anyway again love this piece. All the best and kind regards. Thank you very much ! If your referring to the actual sand dunes and rocks-well, on this one, I used a LOT of actual photographic reference of Mars as background elements and I also remember using at least two shades of terra cotta ( one being pale cherry ) for the sand coloring-so as to give it more physical body and depth. I was inspired from other artists that I've seen online to re-create the city in the far right and left distance and then the Daedalus Mars ship that's literally standing behind me, was also re-created from actual technical drawings of a proposed NASA spaceship design that is or was being studied for a manned mission to Mars in the mid 2030's. Then, of course I ad-libbed quite a lot on the idea of the dog in the spacesuit, the buggy vehicle, helicopter on the green pad building and the flags that represent all of the countries that are interested in going to Mars. You can see the United States, Russia, Germany, United Kingdom, Japan, China, India and France are all included as the main players. This particular piece took me about two months and a half to complete and is 22 inches high by 28 inches wide.
