Mystle stared at the box for the longest time. Why would Jasper just leave this with me? He told me not to open it, but, boy, that made me want to tear it open more! The question nagged at her all through breakfast; she tried distraction. Perhaps playing trivia on the computer would get her mind off of it. I always love that! No such luck. The game went on as she gazed at the tiny ornate box.
Finally, she put the laptop on the kitchen table and picked up the small box. She held it -- it was heavy today, yesterday it was light -- the weight changed everyday which added to the mystery. The weight isn't the only thing; the decor and color changed too. Whatever was inside was definitely magical. She sighed, closed her eyes, decided and yanked the clasp. Soft red light spread throughout the room and the more she stared ... the more the enchantment filled her with endarkenment.
*endarkenment -- created by me -- it means the total opposite of enlightenment
