I was living in Indonesia when I painted this.I have used the different haircolour to signefy the various stages of a volcanic eruption. The frangipanni flower are traditionally planted at cementaries
This draws me in... even more than before... every time I view this! ....thus I have to say your piece brought an hour long discussion with my friend as to the faces...interpretations of who was what...and then I saw even more!!
My favourite piece without question!
Thank you so much for sharing not just art...but something else!! x:)
I was living in Aceh at the time of the tsunami, and had built a house on top of a hill in the jungle. Also overlooking the Indian Ocean. You coul not have been any closer to the epicenter of the 2004 earthquake.Shortly after I had started to build, the war broke out and my house had many visitors from the Indonesian armed forces and the rebels. It was difficult being in the middle.Later I intertained the AMA peacekeepers
I love the three muses it could almost be a a reference to the three godesses of ancient Greek mythology Judgment of Paris except they are judging the world in this day and age.
