Time Lines
This work is a piece done by wife Laurie. The following is her description of this work:
"Time Lines" is a large wall hanging quilt made in 1996 for a Good Housekeeping quilt contest. This is the entry form I submitted : " My great-grandmother
made quilts and so do I. My grandmother recently gave me some fabric that my great-grandmother had used in the making of her quilts. I made one blue and yellow "log cabin", cut it in half, and added a strip of fabric. Then I split the new log cabin many times, each time adding different strips of fabric. The last 2 strips added were red fabric (to represent the blood lines or "time lines" that "bind" my great-grandmother and I) and puzzle fabric (to represent how it's hard sometimes for families to "fit together" emotionally. " Hand and machine sewing. Clothing labels on border. Beads around some circles. The center black circle is embroidered with "Thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusteth in thee." Isaiah 26:3
