Poem -
a tree and some rain
long arms of white blossom
reach out, curl towards me
rain laden... heavy scented...
sympathic even, it seems to me
but I fancy myself
I only know what I see
and my eyes know this truth...
it is nowt but a tree
still, I wish it could speak
maybe once say my name
insist it's white arm is a
gesture of sorts
that it's touch is a meaningful
link to my soul
that the rain has a meaning
beyond being wet
that even i'm maybe more
than just weight on a step
but I fancy myself
it is nowt but a tree
just a tree and some rain and a
step
and then me

I agree wholeheartedly with Jim! Your style is yours and it is amazing! A professor of poetry once told me that anyone can learn to write a poem, anyone. But what cannot be taught is a voice. A voice, is unique and goes beyond style. YOU, my dear friend, have a voice and you write true poetry.
Today I learned that we are our thoughts and this poem, to me reaffirms that. Great writing as always! 💐Xx
Aw...also such kind and beautiful comments from you dear lady. Yes I believe we are our thoughts which can be for whatever reason sometimes difficult to express verbally. Yes, again,..anyone can write poetry and should...it is the most amazing therapy and release.
I really thankyou for your lovely compliment but I don't think I write true poetry...I release my thoughts and imagination on here because I refuse to see anyone in my waking life life...sometimes I reread and cringe lol....but as I have quite a "fuck it" attitude I leave it anyway lol...but I'm always so glad and also touched when I receive a lovely comment...many hugs to.you 💖
