Poem -

the last page

what now,
when the stars fail to thrill
when the snow lays grey dead
when the gods are as strangers
when the books are all read
when the nights are too stark
when the black is too huge
when the soul finds rest nowhere
in no true refuge,
what now,

We know of such moments when all light is fading, but then there is not a death, but another breath, coming up for air, as usual I find a forgotten book that fell to the back of my bookcase...
Beauty dies where litter lies/and lies do litter this old room/where I can no longer walk in beauty... Each and everyday I have to clear out the littered room, to survive and live to breathe again, perchance to dream
