Near Miss

They said children are starving
in 63..
I was five and cried for Africa ..I had special K..
I have eggs for tea..
But then they said Skegness..
In a different Century .
He "d fallen at his father's knee..
In the land of indulgence
All that is gaudy.
My heart is crying .
My heart didn't cry for Africa
that much...
It cried for one sweet mite failed as such..
by society ..
A statistic
a box tick..
A tragedy..
But we will forget..
We will forget..
It keeps happening..
the children that
slip through the net..

Being Me

So sad. Poor little mites. It is sickening that it happens at all, let alone that it happens time and again. Bless their little hearts xx
