Poem -

The fence has been constructed

She makes a scene coming to her senses.
Or on the street at 4 o'clock in the morning

She's packed up and wheeling her bed.

In the trail of your wake a fence was built

To keep people out like you.

That day the music sounded too good

And the wine went down too well. We were free

From hell. From that day on I never could tell

That I forgave myself.

Wonderful metaphor, one must always be able to forgive ones self. Your title is brilliant and brings it all full circle 🌹

That last line is perfect in my humble.
Some loves are toxic ..like wine and drugs
and just as fabulously addictive. x

if I had missed this, and later found out, then I would never have forgiven you either .. but since I eventually made it .. I shall just sit on it for the time being, with my mouth shut  ..
