Autumn Claws

The verbena look silly, old ladies
They age
jaded... their dresses as
This summer ends
I want to paint them bright purple
run a comb through their stems
I want to hold up their drooping
Want to play let's pretend
but summer has partied
Hungover are all
and rough are the last belles
To exit the ball
And ill,
with the short days and cold
blowing winds
so Iย sit with their suffering
As Autumn claws kill
once again

Sigh, I couldn't feel this anymore. There's a sadness to the end of summer, and life in general. Very beautifully written, Marionette. Sad and beautiful.ย
