Poem -

Bemused to Death

when your muse goes walkabout

In those last three days before
winter kicked in ..
We exchanged a grand total
of fifty-seven words
and eighteen sideways glances ..
But hey, whose counting,
they were nothing but numbers
back in the day ..
And a forced smile whenever
it could be squeezed in,
would burn like perma-frost ..
Boy, did they hurt
and like hell, they sure did ..
I am now a very poor griever
and can’t wait for
a thaw to begin, I just need to
start writing again ..

Being word blind is bad enough but when ya muse goes missing and you can’t even go looking for her because you’ve just had surgery on your foot and the wound has managed to get infected ain’t no laughing matter šŸ“šŸ’šŸ·šŸ’‹x

Ohhh Nev... I hope you're up and about soon my friend. Sending you some healing and....fruit. šŸ‡ šŸšŸ’
😊😊... don't try to eat it it's not real. As for a muse... write without her... they're overrated anyway. Big Hugs to you and your foot my friend X

It sounds like you miss her very much. You know how it goes Neville. Muses go for a stroll and come back soon, sometimes she goes for a long walk. But from time to time she goes on a long hike, and will be gone for weeks.Ā
She’s yours and will always come back to you. Ā
Oh no, so sorry about your foot. Hang in there mate. Sending lots of sunshine your way. BĀ

Just as well I got a bit on the side to keep me going through these long, lonely and very dark and what's more, somewhat painful hours ..

Thanks for that B, I think there may well be a glimmer ahead .. NevilleĀ

It sounds pretty serious, Neville. I am very optimistic and always try to see a bright side in everything. But I also realise that sometimes people don’t want to hear that. All they want is a hug. Plain & simple. So, from the other side of the world, I send you a Ā big & warm hug.Ā
