18 years

i had a friend
a cat?.. you say?
for 18 years
he walked my way
i had a friend
he came to stay
we met upon
one rainy day
18 years
i had a friend
i took him in
for better worse
for 18 years
we shared a bed
my feet aligned
beside his head
for 18 years
entwined as one
he died last year
his mission done
i had a friend
he rescued me
twas i you see
was stray. Not he.

Now here's how it went down, first read I wasn't expecting the ending, no way ma'am. So it painfully got through to the heart. The second read I laughed. Brilliant toying of the emotions, and I also choose to believe this tale be true.
It is true... still miss the little bugger who found me on nightshift... outside the nursing home where I worked then. Hid him in downstairs loo and took him home. Little tabby, thin with bald patches. It was Halloween, named him Pumpkin.
Turned out to be a male... never forgave me lol... thanks R x
Maybe two stray souls entwined as one?
dearest Marion, I think your feet miss him too. I know my feet would miss
my furry friends very much. Don't we love those creatures!
I believe our furry friends are sent to find us B... not the other way around. Thanks so much love x
Pulling at my heart strings this is so true for so many, finding something that can actually save our lives having this type company that came out of no where seems pretty much a sign. Beautiful dear friend. 🌹
Aw thankyou... I do miss the little bugger x
I feel sure there's a hell of a lot of truth here and I aint no pussy .. x
Yea... it's all true... if a cat can be a soulmate he was... I miss his distinct personality... ah... such is life... everybody leaves us eventually. I also believe our animals find us not the other way around. Thanks Nev X
