Flags of Our Fathers

Flags of Our Fathers

World War Two

The battle of Iwo Jima

February 19 - March 26, 1945

The sands of Iwo Jima, black and bleak

A canvas painted with valor, raw and weak

A battle fought with fire in their eyes

Beneath a sky of smoke and endless cries

The mountain looms, a jagged stony tooth

Soldiers crawled and charged in battle

Brothers in arms, soldiers of war

A brotherhood forged deep in blood and fire

On the island of Iwo Jima

An iconic photograph of six American soldiers raising the American flag

A moment frozen in time and history

Shadows cast with bravery and courage

Old Glory stands true and tall on the island of Iwo Jima

A symbol of freedom and valor

A burning candle of sacrifice and courage

Red, white, and blue flames of America

The flags of our fathers stands true with victory and valor 🇺🇸🪖🪖🪖🎖🎖🎖
