Dream
A Stars poem

Didn't think there'd be anyway
Back the way we came.
On a path into the sunset.
Once we were newly weds.
I conceived of a dream
I dare not live out.
You casted shadows where
You knew too much doubt.
Morning in the winter sun
Now the fire eats the wood
In the parking lot
We toasted s'mores on.
Evening now the twilight of our
Love has gone down.
(embers burn in my heart)

Wow your imagery, rhyme and emotion is what makes this a hard one to chew my dear Rory, it is surely a sad fate when we find the love has faded or broken, but having said that, we remain free to have a possibility then to truly find that one true person who gets you loves you enjoys your spirit and stays true to your love. 🌹kudos on your heart on sleeve I'm really getting to see your beautiful soul.
In the spirit of hassling you Shirley, I've added a last line here for you too have a look at. I'm not sure if it errs on the corny side?
Embers burn in my heart, oh that is so romantic, never endingly hopeful and without regret and grief
Stunning last lines
there are simply no rules for love
Follow your muse, if it comes from the heart, as yours always does then it can never ever be corny.
In the spirit of being a fellow writer you my friend are never a hassler. 💜
Great lines, Rory. Very subtle, very you.

Kind kindly, B, yours are are not misspent words to be sure
