Poem -

rise

and when it rose, it rose alone
night moved in
became my home

and not a star it thought to bring
and not a moon to offer hope

not even owl with bleakest cry
night marched right in and bid me die

within.

Crafted expertly as always. That's the best review I can do, otherwise I'd gush

Sad but hopeful, as you too will rise one day. Amidst the Same sky.

Being Me

The black dog. The darkness. The abyss. The black that is blacker than any black. Your writing is superb xx

But in the end, both Moon and Sun will shed their light and restore some kind of life, for even in the blackest night you are never completely alone, here on Cosmo there are friends that know the Darkness too and understand the loneliness. Kudos from this one too

Thankyou John, such wise words. I think most of humanity knows the blackness to one degree or another... unfortunately. But you're right, the stars still shine even in the blackest nights... hugs x

Thank you for these words, I just got the message of another drug-related death in my step-family (two stepbrothers, one od and one a few weeks ago through cancer instigated by heroin long ago, of the first the only son stepped out at 22 and the only son of the other died this week from probably an overdose - I hurt so much for the wife/mother as you can relate to (so sorry for your wounds) that I went straight home from work - now out of eight brothers and sisters and four kids as far as I know of 3 and 2 are gone... So glad my real bro and me escaped that shit with only a few scars. Let's hang in there Seeking the Sun☀️🌞

John that is so so sad, I find it impossible how people survive the loss of multiple children... impossible.... how the universe can be so cruel. x
