What Lies Beneath

What Lies Beneath

When I put myself in your shoes
It does not properly fit,
Not because I don’t see,
It’s because the pain is so yours
and only you know what lies beneath,
But I can sow a few seeds
so you can walk on flowers
In times of great need.

What I love about these words is the acknowledgement. No...the narrator cannot know the pain of another but is there to help ...and soften the way with a perfumed carpet. Lovely B x
