Poem -

fallen days

Reminds me
of fallen days
black ones when the rain drives
home

grey days of the pattering boom
When all beneath the sky is
Doom
Umbrellas, hoods
puddles and mud
Artful sheep in sodden piles

Drooping leaves on once proud
trees

All grief reduces
Days to these

I have to be honest here. Such grief as you describe has never been mine to experience. But, as a human, and a poet, I can feel the emotions seeping out of your words. I like the way you use the weather, particularly rain which you have used in other poems, to represent the feelings. "Artful sheep in sodden piles" is a great line.

How extraordinarily accurately you have poemed a picture of grief, depression and abject despair .. I'm near ashamed to suggest I so very sadly enjoyed my visit here .. but for all the write reasons .. with much respect, your mate ME x
