ARCHITECTS

ARCHITECTS

Are we fated to meet

in some windswept cafe

somewhere on the East Coast?

Who but time can ever say?

Would the real us disappoint?

How will we ever know?

Would the right words escape our mouths?

A trickle, a torrent or a steady flow.

We are architects who design

buildings constructed from words,

buildings that contain within them

stories of love, loss or a tale of two lovebirds

A friendship born from poetry,

shared experiences from our past.

I trust you with the words I write.

From similar moulds we are cast.
