I do not abandon you

The wild monster
Plays tricks with her years
I don't let her near
Time cannot make me fear

Time is what we try to make the most of and in that aspect we might win in the short term and we may lose, Marion.
It's better to win over time, but regardlessly we all taste final defeat at time's end.
Time is what one makes with it and often cruel as we strive to endure.
