Alone

Β
She stands alone forsaken, terrified
Fear holds no bounds she is overcome by murkiness
Dark shadows of the night
The cobbled path beneath her feet
Echoed every sound ~ while in the mistiness
A weird silence abounds
The deafening stillness where does she turn?
Wearily she treads scared and lonely
Imagination seeing things not there
Every sound hammers louder in her mind
She has been abandoned alone into the night
Searching shelter ~ a place to hide
Fear roots her to the spot ~ nothing but darkness
No escape panic grips her whole being
What had bought her to this dark place
Why was she here ~ where was she going
She knew she was screaming ~ yet
not a sound could be heard ~ in the
stillness she was trapped afraid, unheard
Suddenly
Without thought or warning her body takes flight
She shivers running towards some bright light
She had escaped
The nightmare was over
Sunlight peeped through her windows
She awoke to hear birds singing
The fears of the night completely gone
Β Β Β Β Β Β ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A horrible nightmare from which she awoke
Her heart still pounding it felt so real

wonderful poem
Thanks Greg so pleased you liked it, dreams nightmares
are horrible things yet some truth lies within when we are
afraid somehow we cannot move no matter how hard we
try.
Love x
Hi CherieΒ thanks a million - yes had many dreams of same
think it is something we are afraid of something inside that
has to escape who knows.
Of to bed now as it is nearly midnight here in England.
Reminds me Trumps visit - -Β Oh dear did not go down to well
What a mess everything is in.
Love and Hugs Anne x
beautifully penned!
Thank you so much
Anne
Well written Anne... I can also relate to this nightmare, especially "screaming, yet not a sound could be heard" - terrifying!
So true Julie when we are in fear and want to scream nothing comes we
seem to go in zombie mode. Like being followed fear grips you to the spot
Thank you for reading my work.
