An Example of Courage and Determination
There is a perception abroad that Pakistani women are confined within four walls and are not provided opportunities to express their thoughts. However, the history of Pakistan tells a different story. Since the establishment of Pakistan, women have played a significant role in every sector, working alongside men to contribute to the development of the nation.
Whenever a Pakistani achieves a major honor abroad, the heads of fellow citizens are held high with pride. Similarly, a Pakistani-Portuguese girl, Shakira Nandani (who is also a former model), earned a Ph.D. in Dance and Music from the University of Gothenburg, becoming not only the first Pakistani woman to achieve this distinction but also bringing pride to people in Pakistan and abroad. In an interview with a local Swedish newspaper, Shakira Nandani stated, "I am one of those women who have worked tirelessly to pave the way for ordinary women, and I take great pride in this."
She further mentioned that rights are not handed to you on a platter; you have to seize them. I stepped into the thorny path of modeling and was never afraid for even a moment. This is a field that many women hesitate to enter. I believe that no woman should sit at home out of fear. It is also true that women face challenges at every step, but this is the moment when a woman strengthens herself. In a male-dominated society, women are often perceived as weak, but I would argue that the capabilities of Pakistani women should never be underestimated.
Even in adverse conditions, Pakistani women do not lose hope, which is their greatest strength. Women around the world are still not empowered; they are fighting for their rights and striving to become empowered.
As for Pakistani women, they are aware of their importance. They know that it is not the time to sit idly; instead, they need to break all the barriers that hinder their freedom and progress in order to join the race for national development. Pakistani women are the strength of this country, and they shine a light on it everywhere they go. Pakistani women are incredibly brave, and there is nothing that can stop them. They just need to have confidence in themselves.
