Here is to the dreamers

To those in class

That lives inside their head.

To those who stare out of the windows

instead of listening to useless information

given in a structured and systematic way.

To those that instead of an essay,

will draw a picture,

a picture that is worth a thousand words.

To those that choose not to follow the crowd,

but to think for themselves instead.

To those that give daring answers

rather than a textbook answer.

Those that question what is learnt and why

To those that sit quietly in their corner,

the one that knows the answers,

while the obnoxious few scream it out,

all in favor of attention and praise.

To those who have been told

“You won’t amount to much in life.”

To the garage bands and street musicians

To those who had to die to become famous

To those who receive much criticism and ridicule

Those who suffer for their art

and endure a closing door after door after door.

Here is to the poets, the artists, the philosophers

the writers, the inventors,

the musicians, the actors and audacious alike.

To the Paul Mitchell’s, Steve Job’s, Nicola Tesla’s

Van Gogh’s, Susan Boyle’s, Plato’s and Richard Branson’s of tomorrow.

To the shy, the humble, the daring

the ambitious, the courageous, the leaders

the fearless, the influential, the visionaries
