LET IT BE AND LET GO

Change is good. But when the egg crushes and the milk spills and what is dead cannot be brought back to life, let it be. When what is done cannot be undone, let go. Let go of the ego. You’re not unlimited. You cannot have everything under control. You sometimes ‘miss your takes’—you make mistakes. It is not healthy holding on to a bird that has flown out of your hands. It is not healthy, thinking that the best you’ve had is the best you will ever have. The best for a seedling is having grown out of its seed. The best for a tree may be in bearing fruits or giving off branches. The best is just current. The best today may be the worst tomorrow. ‘The best’ is defined by seasons. There’s a lot of unlocking to be done in a lifetime. Don’t lock yourself up because an unlocking went wrong. Understand that as long as life finds you, you will win and lose. When you win, embrace the prize. When you lose, let it be and let go. If you don’t let go, you won’t allow yourself to go. You will be stale, losing yourself in what you lost. Go; go on more hunts. Don’t be haunted. Go on hunts and aim for a game. Who knows? You might win once more.
