Dream -

Still in Silent Sleep

Still in Silent Sleep

Silently still falls the snow upon the street while I creep into warm slumber

Silent still night I fall while you weep

ColdΒ you moan and lay upon the floor in silent still shore, your breath becomes no more for death awaits your cold still corpse while I creep under warm duvet and sleep, sweet dreams forever more

Still silent in air of white sleet building around my burning peat I keep to see out my night, warm of sweet slumber sleep while you die under sleet and cold snow

I doΒ not moan, but silently dream of no man upon my land yet you lay white and cold like a snowman to be told...

"remainΒ outside under blanket of sleet with blue feet, never speak for fear of wakening my slumber sleep"Β

My deepΒ sleep, as life to keep I remain in sweet sleep while you see, while you wake for goodness sake I remain asleep forever under silent sleet and you, with eyes of coal see more as I count sheep under sleet outside with black feet

You dear god, a snowman outside my burning door banging to wake my slumbering soul, bang away angel of yore for I will sleep forever moreΒ

YetΒ here you be, beside my bed at the hour of three, staring, never caring for my restless night, whispering ancient delight, screaming silently you move through the night ripping my existince with frightΒ

IΒ wake from deep sleep, screaming at the empty void you've left behind, crying upon my bedside trying to remember the reason of life, yet it escapes my grasp, dissolving into black holes of empty massΒ

IΒ stand, gathering unwanted gravity and fall once again into life's blanket, under, wondering will you return to wake my sleeping slumber

I am torn

OhhΒ how I miss your waking thunder to rupture my dreams once more

I wrote this after a very troubled night, while I slept I felt as if someone was standing over me, beside my bed, in my room screaming silently, it wasn't sleep paralysis, I've had that before, this was different, I try here to describe it.

I tried to, the start of the poem is repetitive, like the nights, it's constant also one of my favourite poets is Edgar Allan Poe, I love his poetry, the melancholy tales, the gloom, I can identify with it. Thanks for reading.Β

Dear Poet Brother SIR McGowan!!......I often find that my dreams speak VERY loudly in my waking state!!..... and it's always wise to get them down on paper as soon as possible after waking...... what you've done here is quite magical and VERY compelling...... and also ' very much' in the vein of Edgar Allen Poe.....I see he's a favorite of yours and it shows in this piece...... the timing and tone is well handled here...... I'll definitely be following more of your work....I enjoyed this!!.......ALL STARS!!......LOVE and ROCKETS!!......T xo ???β˜€β™₯
