Body Image

Body Image

Destiny feels small, mine, next to hers.

My thighs feel bigger,

Next to hers.

"STOP comparing!" I have to say to myself,

Once in a while.

Repairing the broken tile,

On the bathroom wall,

Fixing something that's been broken before.

A damaged image,

Taken with a faulty polaroid,

Where the image comes out all

Obscure,

Like some jagged cut made in the skin,

Not straight. A spectrum of lines.

An eye for that girl,

In a way I never thought possible,

The image her body makes,

Surely there's something wrong here?

It would appear.

Appearances, beauty,

And then the feeling is gone,

The image comes out clear,

You have to shake the printerĀ

A couple of times,

Before the image comes out perfect.

Perfection?

Loosen up!

Allow feelings of difference,

Allow expansion,

Realising the person you are,

When you are healthy.

The unhealthy comparison lost in time,

The healthy version of the story.

The rest of the image,

Clarity.
