“OOOHHH MUCH!”
Title is what she used to say to us because we were always telling her we loved her sooo much!

Of a daughters heart,
Daddy’s standing guard
One day he’ll have to let up,
But it’s going to be hard
Be so far from easy,
Get foot past his gate
He’s dreading that big moment,
She goes on her first date
But she’s a rare anomaly,
Makes her choices wisely
Is forever with that first one,
Wouldn’t even surprise me
Daddy’s counting himself lucky,
Still be a few more years
Before he’s forced to survive,
Heart tackling its biggest fears

Our kids leaving us...that worry attaches to us and eats away from the first day they take breath and never leaves...well expressed here x
Was written to follow one I wrote for my daughters Daddy I think two Fathers Days ago.
“Carry You?”
In a daughter's eyes,
Daddy can do no wrong
Where he takes off his work boots,
Will always be her home
Her first in shining armor,
Prince!, kiss from a toad
The boy who'll never harm her,
Always help her cross the road
As she grows, so will their bond
Ever needs him by her side,
Of her he'll only grow more fond,
And hold her with more pride
He's what forms her image,
Of what a man should be,
Although it takes a village,
He's all she'll ever see.
Sorry I missed this Ashley and this is just as beautiful and wonderfully written ... truly beautiful x
