Poem -

Rift

Alone I seem to be.
From now to infinity.
There is no ladder to climb
to connect me with my kind.
And all my many tears
throughout my many years,
Every time my heartaches,
Every time my spirit breaks
a hellish terrible dream ensues.
There is no one there to lift
me over this haunting rift.
