RETURN TO SENDER

LIFE IS ASKING OF MEĀ
MORE THAN I CAN GIVE,
LOVE, PATIENCE, SACRIFICES,
RESTRAINT, AND TO FORGIVE.

TO LOOK INTO THE EYESĀ
OF THOSE I KNOW DISLIKE ME
AND SMILE,
FROM THE DEPTHS OF MY HEART
LIKE AN INNOCENT CHILD.

TO ENDURE HARDSHIP,Ā
PAIN AND SUFFERING,
UNTIL MY LAST BREATHĀ
IS DRAWN.

DEAR LIFE,
FROM WHENCE YOU CAMEĀ
PLEASE RETURN,
TO ME YOU ARE A CONSUMING FIRE
AND I’M THE ONLY ONEĀ
THAT GETS BURNT.

WILFORD BARKER.
