Stranded on nothing

Alighted at an airport 

longing for the boat to come in 

A one and only arrival 

No departures on the board 

I can almost feel the sunlight shining through my body 
Feels surreally so real 

One foot taps in the departure lounge 
The other steadfast to the ground 
Defiantly hanging around 

Getting out of this world coursing in my body 
Getting into this life 
I want it 

In my mind running across my body 
To feel good 
Going to a place I’ve never been but know 

I waited for fullness 
I executed nothingness 

Trying to listen to braille 
hearing out for a sign 

Reaching for the stars from the direction of my scars 

If I’m waiting for safety 

what am I waiting for ?
