One Chilling Word

there are things out there, out
there in the dark, things we can't
see but we feel things unreal and
we all know it's true yet deny it
we do so we tell all the children
there's no bogey boo but there is
and we know it inside us we
know it and all of the gods in this
world cannot help, for tis other
things know us and own us and
rule us and history lies and does
not really fool us and all of the
smiles and pretence in this world
cannot ever delete it, that one
chilling word
