Love lost

In the shadows of time, I sought to dwell, Battling the ticking clock's relentless spell. Since the dawn of my existence, I've tried to stand, Yet, the weight of my fears, I could not withstand. In search of love, elusive it seems, Each day, slipping away like distant dreams. Kisses exchanged, yet followed by regret, A cycle of longing, I cannot forget.Dreams once vivid, now shrouded in doubt, The pain within, too deep to flout. Witnessing my future engulfed in flames, A reluctant farewell, as I whisper my name.

Love this. A conversational tone that reads so well. I've experienced love lost also. Maybe that's why I'm enjoying these so much!
