WHERE DID THE SUMMER GO

WHERE DID THE SUMMER GO

Where did the summer go, pointing us to winter's doors
The trees were swaying in the summer breeze
As birds glide through the air with ease.

The atmosphere was full of laughter and cheers
Family gatherings spread throughout the cities
Grandparents embracing their grandchildren for the first time
Their eyes filled with brightness, giving kisses so divine.

'Where did the summer go,
With its warm embrace and sun-kissed glow
The days have all slipped by like grains of sand
Leaving us longing for its gentle hand.

Like a dream that passes in the tiresome night
Summer and its excitement sailed on by
The leaves have begun to change their colors
And the wind whispers another season minutes and hours.

But fear not, for though summer may depart
It leaves a spark within our longing hearts
A warmth that will forever glow
Reminding us of where the summer did go

So let us cherish each fleeting day
Embrace the changes that come our way
For in every season, there's beauty to know
Even in the question of where did the summer go?

Ah yes the summer, while I'm sitting here in 34c it's still very much alive in Italy, but I hope soon the winter waves of heat shall calm, what a beautiful poem, my favourite season is about to arrive, colours of autumn and pumpkins. A lovely poem dear Wilford. 🌹

Being Me

Time is fleeting ... and so is the summer. Out with the ice cold smoothies in with the hot chocolate. As you say, each season has its special bits ... but summer, that's the one we all look forward to. Fabulous poem x
