I don't know if it's ok to tell you 
I love you
Because I don't know if I do
But it's the only word 
I can find
To attribute to the way I feel
Or to the things I think 
And how I am 
When I'm near you

And I don't know if it's ok to say
I love you 
When I don't know what it means 
And because actions do
Speak louder than words 
And my actions 
Don't match what love
Is supposed to mean

And I don't know if it's ok to say 
I love you 
When it might just be
A passing fancy
An obsession 
And there's an obvious confusion 
And I'm prone to delusional 
Behaviour 

And I would have loved to have told you
I love you
Not for the sake
Of reciprocation 
But just out of some kind of
Need to be seen as human
And I do have this need to be seen
Whether right or wrong
It doesn't make it any the less real
