Dreams.
Like dreams, I wake to early
there's a sentiment left behind,
Corridors and winding back, to the upstairs of my mind
Only attics frighten me,
So dark , secluded with soot
And I can't calculate my steps
Or plant grace beneath my foot,
I only have what's heavenly I fight with cross to bare,
Demons stand for nothing, when I'm in your loving care
But there's surely more than a trail to find, glory binds the way, and if I could I'd stay to dream,
But another day.

Sometimes we sleep for 100 years before we get kissed by true love. Just like Sleeping Beauty. Lovely Poetry.
There's a sentiment left behind - what a line that is. So meaningful, so suggestive. And that sentiment, what could it be? Well for me it becomes apparent later in the poem or maybe it always was apparent.
I love the understated religious imagery in the couplet "I only have what's heavenly ....." particularly the line about demons counting for nothing in this person's care. Dreams are no longer dreams when they acquire reality. So glad I have become reacquainted with your words. 🥰❤️
