Ĺ´here echoes break (for piano violin duet)

Ĺ´here echoes break (for piano violin duet)

Silence shattered with your goodbye,

like glass falling into my soul,

and the wind, accomplice to pain,

brushes my cheeks with tears it stole.

The piano weeps notes that don’t understand,

and the violin moans your name without breath,

each string is an open vein,

each key, a memory dressed in death.

I search for you in my empty bed,

in the chair where you once sat near,

I call your name in broken whispers—

the dawn returns them with no one to hear.

Where are you when I scream in silence?

Where do you sleep as my world decays?

Who now holds your trembling hands,

while mine grow cold in endless days?

You left behind verses with no end,

letters with no path, kisses with no stay,

like a song without a rhythm,

like a heart that’s lost its way.

And I remain, like a weary piano,

repeating the same old sorrowful phrase,

and the violin... like a drowned lament,

only knows how to die—without your embrace.
