Poem -

SPIRIT LAKE THE MISSING

Who cares

Ancestors hold me now
silence greets this howl
my skin  blessed within
elders uncles auntie too
 cry my death song
for I’m gone

nobody came though I watched the posters framed
walking home in a storm wishing and thinking about my baby born

harmless smile the knives hid between
warrior rode but could  not get seen.

now auntie uncle too
sing the song taught to you
i sit now amongst buffalo
mountains greet my sad soul

my land lays beneath a killers feet
bones that melt in sun and ice
stay close my sisters
red hand on face
stay close my brothers
walk the warriors race
