Poem -

10 Years of Grief Later

I cannot get over death.

It cannot be undone,

It cannot be repeated.

But sometimes, the memory of the lost one is mistreated or deleted.

Well, they're still the lucky ones though, aren't they?

They've done their time, payed their dues

While the rest of us wait around for some good news,

Living only for Friday and wasting the life in between,

Acting as if a mediocre life is something we couldn't possibly refuse.

I guess the point of the matter is; you're gone.

You've been gone for a decade now,

& you always will be gone.

No matter how many poems and songs i write,

Neither of them will be enough to bring you back.

Whether I want them to or not...

Maybe this is why I always wear black.

Goodbye, my muse.

I'll miss you.
