A Beautiful Dream’s Dichotomy

A Beautiful Dream’s Dichotomy

Oft times I’ll have a beautiful dream, you’re back in my arms once again;

We are holding close with kissing lips, just like from long ago back when!

My heart is jumping out of my chest, with happiness and grandest giddy glee;

My soul is singing a passionate paean, it’s mate stands next to me!

But all too soon the dream will end, as the tears of joy still run;

My arms are holding only air, the nightmare has rebegun!

What has just been love’s most beautied bliss, has turned to dark despair;

For I’m back now in my loneliness, and you’re no longer there!

The cruel dichotomy, impossible to bear, drives me almost mad;

For I’ve gone from experiencing ecstasy, to all at once be sad!

The tears again start flowing free, not joy’s, but excruciating pains’;

As my saddened soul sends an S.O.S., that again it has been drained!

But I feel like I’m a masochist, for I pray I’ll dream each night;

At least for a while my soul will sing, and again I’ll hold you tight!

Euphoric rapture defeats dejections’ dole, trading grief for a moment’s joy;

In these beautiful dreams of dire dichotomy, which come close to me destroy!

A very touching piece...It's hard to get over the lost of a soulmate...It feels as if a part of one is ripped off and gone along with the loved one...This brought rears to my eyes

Love you

My Dear Sweet Rose,

Yes Sweet Rose, even the thought of losing a soulmate can bring instant teardrops.  As you say, it feels like a part of you has been ripped away, and you are left with a darkened void.  Thank you for your always lovely words.

Love you too,

Daddio xxx
