A Broken Smile

Have you ever wondered how,
Someone soo loud,
Could suddenly turn soo quiet,
The person that makes you smile and laugh,
Whilst they themselves just feel like crying,
It isnt your fault you didnt see it,
They've been trying soo hard to hide it,
Smiling and laughing all the time,
Doesn't mean much,
When their smile's in denial,
They would love to ask for help,
But on the outside they look just fine,
Just think about this for a second,
A minute bit of darkness,
Can take away a shine,
They dont want to be a burden to you,
So they prayed it improved given time,
But when things just started to look up,
There was some bad news,
Just down the line,
Now not knowing what to do,
Or what direction they should tread,
I SAT AND WROTE THIS POEM,
To put the thought inside your head,
How d'you know someone is happy or not,
Is it the joyous laughter that you've shared ?
Yet when you're not together,
Do you know many tears that they have shed ?
For a believer that life was always good,
I felt i was horribly misled,
Yet its the feelings I had not long ago,
In someone else i know Is what i dread,
I couldnt turn a blind eye,
And let my journey be left unsaid,
So if you have doubts within your self,
Im here for you to talk to,
Or even offer a hug instead.

Nice - but where's the magic?
It's all a bit flat and matter-of-fact.

The magic is the fact that writing this helped me get over a depressive stage in my life. For me this meant so much and I thought id share it in case people can relate
