A Child's Guardian: the Epic of Nise no Mujitsu (Verse 2: Clouds of Doubt and Light of Rebirth)

as the boy reaches the age of preteen
she began to feel guilty fore he had not seen
the true nature of this porcelain queen
the demon she had never been
since meeting this child, their love too clean

her guilt, it build till she can no longer take
being so silent, so utterly fake
so after he returns from a day at school
she reveals her self expecting a reaction most cruel
but instead the boy reveres her as cool
saying he wonders why she took so long
to reveal such a thing which in his mind does belong
within his life to bring wonder and light
to scare away any sense of fright

she responds with words of fear and doubt
for she could not hope to figure out
why someone so innocent would not rather be without
a demon doll he knew so little about
again the boy reassures his friend
that this shall not be the end
of the bond they have, but will only amend
the nature of their love, turning it from that of child and toy
to a relationship both could still enjoy
one of companionship, of true friends
one to help on life’s darkest bends

the smile she had when she helped his wound returns
for in her heart a passion burns
to protect her boy from all concerns
and thus a new age does begin
of child and doll, with true love within
